One of the first certified organic companies within Europe, this family-owned business based in Northern Italy is on a mission to share their low waste and vegan honey and spreads.

Rigoni di Asiago is a family-owned, Italian-based business that specializes in producing certified organic and vegan honey and spreads. By extracting their honey from beehives in unpolluted areas throughout Italy and avoiding the use of toxic additives such as pesticides, colorants, herbicides, etc., Rigoni di Asiago brings these clean and sustainable products from Northern Italy to a larger global market. Committed to offering clean and environmentally conscious products, they are organic, USDA, non-GMO, IFS, BRC Food and vegan certified.

Located in Altopiano di Asiago, a mountain plateau near Venice, Rigoni di Asiago extracts its core ingredients from this land. From the honey and fiordifrutta (fruit spreads), to the nocciolata (chocolate spread), all of their products are hand-chosen by members of the Rigoni family before being passed onto production. This trademark stamp of approval by a Rigoni family member ensures that the recipes stay true to their origins, which are based on the surrounding mountain forests, valleys, wildlife and nature.

The honey that Rigoni di Asiago produces is raw and mono-floral, thus maintaining the unaltered qualities of honey and making sure it truly comes straight from the beehive. Mono-floral honey derives from a single flower or plant and allows the honey to maintain distinct flavors. In addition, the company has also patented a unique room-temperature production, a process that aids in the distribution of honey in its most natural form.

Despite the company’s traditional practices, Rigoni di Asiago is highly innovative— so much so that they were one of the very first companies in Europe to practice organic farming and achieve the Certified Organic label. All of the products are also non-GMO, which is a key factor that sets Rigoni di Asiago apart from its competitors. Aside from organic and vegan attributes to the honey and spreads, sustainability is also an important factor as Rigoni di Asiago prioritizes their products being a low waste.

Highlighting the importance of creating an ethical brand, Andrea Rigoni, the CEO and president of Rigoni di Asiago, has said, “We strongly believe that, as a global society, we need to develop sustainable lifestyles and use the best technology to create a balance between the availability and the consumption of resources. Our company has always been committed to respecting the environment, favoring bio-diversity and developing the best practices to guarantee conscious choices for ourselves and our future generations.”
