Herschel Supply Co.
Founded in 2009 by Lyndon and Jamie Cormack in Vancouver, Canada, Herschel Supply Co. continues to make high-quality and beautifully designed bags and accessories. Herschel initially got its name from Hersche, Saskatchewan, where earlier generations of the Cormack family grew up. This small town embodied boundless creative freedom, acting as a continuous source of inspiration for Herschel’s designs to this day.
In 2021, they created a “10-Year Vision,” intending to move towards a more circular economy. Within that following year, Herschel started using 100% renewable energy, recycled four million plastic bottles and donated $215,000 to support North American artisans. Additionally, the “10-Year Vision” put forth the goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by the year 2030. Many of Herschel’s products are made up of their EcoSystem™ material. The soft EcoSystem 600D Fabric is made using 100% post-consumer water bottles, and the EcoSystem Hardshell material is made using 70% recycled polycarbonate from road barricade material.
Herschel’s philanthropic pursuits are continuous and ever-growing. They partner with Canopy, an organization devoted to forest conservation and indigenous community advocacy. They have also donated over one million of their products to local populations in need since 2020. To learn more, click here.
