G-Star Raw
Founded in 1989, G-Star Raw is known for creating “luxury denim for the streets.” The brand designs streetwear – denim, jackets, hoodies, shoes, and accessories.
G-Star’s four sustainability pillars are “circularity, responsible materials, climate change, and pollution.” They created the first ever Cradle to Cradle certified denim fabric using 100% organic cotton, with no toxic chemicals or water waste. Some of their materials include Lycra T400, EcoMade, ROICA V550, LENZING ECOVERO Viscose, TENCEL, and recycled polyester. To ensure that their customers are making educated purchase choices, G-Star Raw has a ranking system of all of their materials from the lowest to the highest environmental impact. Additionally, to reduce waste, their Rewear shop features pre-loved G-Star Raw products.
This brand prioritizes its philanthropic efforts and established the GSRD Foundation to take action. In the countries where G-Star Raw products are made, the GSRD implements programs to increase youth education and teach entrepreneurial skills.
