Dunsel's

Dunsel’s upcycles used and discarded outdoor fabrics into unique bags, ranging from totes to duffels to fanny packs. William McCarthy originally started the brand in 2020 as a fundraising effort for the Florida State University Sailing Club. Since then, Dunsel’s has developed partnerships with boating and sailing organizations across the US to source used sailboat sails, marine canvas and upholstery materials for their products.

85% of the materials used in Dunsel’s products are upcycled, while the remaining materials are high-quality and ethically made. The upcycled outdoor fabrics are durable and water-resistant, ensuring a long life-cycle for all of their products. The few virgin materials that are used are primarily pieces like zippers and straps, which must be high-quality in order to ensure long-term functionality.  Their fanny packs are sewn in-house, while other products are made by sewing contractors. Dunsel’s ensures that their partner manufacturers uphold ethical labor practices and fair wages through frequent visits to manufacturing facilities.
