Chan Luu jewelry and accessories, a Los Angeles-based brand, produces beautiful socially conscious products. Inspired by culture, artisans and natural elements from around the world, Chan Luu is at the forefront of the ethical fashion movement. Luu made a commitment to giving women in the developing world fair wages, good work and life skills. This philosophy resulted in a partnership with the UN’s Ethical Fashion Initiative. Through this initiative, Luu collaborated with marginalized artisans in the countries of West and East Africa and Haiti to create jewelry for her line. The artisans earned a comfortable living wage and an opportunity to develop their brand through mentorship with Luu. The jewelry brand is especially dedicated to providing long-standing, substantial support for the women who help create their products. In Kenya alone, Luu created 782 jobs, with 98% of them going to women. Additionally, she has donated over $1 million to organizations that support women’s causes.
