Archive New York
Founded by Amira Marion in Brooklyn in 2014, Archive New York’s mission is to preserve Mayan culture and heritage by collaborating with Indigenous weavers in Guatemala to design products. As a Fair Trade artisan decor company, Archive New York has a broad selection of sustainable products, all of which are colored with natural plant dyes. Archive New York’s design process begins with extensive research on antique and increasingly rare fabric samples, especially in areas where weaving traditions are gradually fading. These techniques are then reintroduced to local artisans in an effort to reconnect others to and thus preserve extraordinary fiber arts and crafts.
