Hôtel de Tourrel

In the peaceful town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France, Hôtel de Tourrel is a haven for anyone seeking relaxation and revitalization. While this quaint town conjures up tranquil images of Van Gogh’s post-impressionist works, it is also a vibrant oasis for cosmopolitan travelers. Unique shops, delicious restaurants, and fragrant wines are just a few of the offerings this destination provides for its visitors.

Hôtel de Tourrel is comprised of seven spacious suites decorated with mid-century pieces. Housed in a 17th century palais in the center of an old village, this hotel is unlike any other you will encounter in Provence. The heritage and modernity of the site are expertly melded together to create a luxurious destination. When architect and co-owner Margot Stängle effortlessly renovated this manor into an exquisite hotel, she combined the 24 separate rooms into 7 expansive suites —  thus ensuring that every guest has plenty of room to relax and recharge.

Crisp white linens, rich green velvet accents, and handmade light fixtures guarantee that this retreat is sophisticated yet comfortable. Each room is uniquely decorated and draws influence from the relaxed and cosmopolitan nature of Saint-Remy. While modern, this former nobleman’s home retains tradition. Designers Eileen Gray and Konstantin Grcic of the brand Classicon took original features and installed complementary modern furniture, combining old and new. This design culminates in a sleek and simple decor that establishes a new modern luxury.

In addition, the wine bar houses floor-to-ceiling racks of rare and vintage varietals for any guest to sample and enjoy. The communal wooden table in the wine bar fosters a festive environment for conversation and allows for culinary exploration as visitors sample wines from around the world. There is a true respect for the art of winemaking, evident through the exquisite selection that Hôtel de Tourrel offers.

This central location offers many experiences, such as going for a wine tour, exploring the many museums in the region, or simply wandering around the historic city. After visiting Saint-Remy, relax in the hotel’s pool and rooftop terrace.

Hôtel de Tourrel is an escape in the heart of Provence. The combination of culture, art, food and wine all housed in a this historic manor create a beautiful experience.
