Vicarello is not only ancient, but also completely personal; the owners, Aurora and Carlo Baccheschi Berti, have called it home since 1978, and transformed the property into a hotel in 2003. They have decorated the grounds with an eclectic mix of antique artifacts and personal items collected throughout their colorful lives. The two wanted to create a place that encompasses beauty, tranquility and authenticity while also reflecting a life lived to the highest standards of culture, quality and commitment.
“At Castello di Vicarello, history lives on each path, in each stone, and every wall sings a song of the ancient past.”
– Carlo Baccheschi Berti
The renovations done by Aurora and Carlo have brought the castle back to its ancient splendor. Aside from the breathtaking 360-degree view of the Tuscan countryside, the Vicarello contains many amenities for those who visit. The grounds include a spa, which opened in 2008, containing an open terrace with a hot tub, sauna and massage room. The great lawn below the castle has expansive views of the southwest and is also ideal for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
Castello di Vicarello is a charming residence in which to discover time, silence, and history. Every path, every brick and every wall tells a story. It is a place where the eye is continually lost in the green of the countryside, all the way down to the blue Tuscan sea.
Celebrating its 900th anniversary in 2012, Castello di Vicarello is an exceptional oasis for any occasions. For details on booking, visit Here
