Welcome March, welcome spring, welcome the Mood of the Month: Invigorate!
As we look forward to spring starting March 20th, we anticipate longer days and warmer weather. March brings joy, a longing to wear short sleeves and a desire to breathe in the fresh air.
We spring forward the clock on March 13th with Daylight Savings, a practice originally intended to provide farmers with more working hours, giving us an extra hour of sun. National Agriculture Day is observed on March 15th, a day of commemorating those who play an essential role in our daily lives. At the first signs of spring we begin to see fresh produce in our farmers’ markets like asparagus; my favorite. Be inspired to eat well and recognize the source of your food. Spend time to better understand and appreciate agriculture and the challenging work of your local farmers.
March was originally named after “Mars,” the Roman god of war and a guardian of agriculture. This month celebrates rebirth and the reinvigoration of life– from our spirit after a long, hard winter to the greenery all around us. International Women’s Day on March 8th celebrates the essence of women and their achievements in society. On a lighter note, Peanut Butter Lover’s Day is on March 1st and brings attention to one of America’s most delicious and coveted treats. With these events in mind, take a step towards leading a more mindful and conscious way of life.
Wishing everyone a happy spring and new beginnings. Follow your passion; find your joy!
