A summer’s day can often be described as blissful. Whether you’re spending your summer traveling the world, exploring nature, or navigating the hustle and bustle of a city, a moment of tranquility is always possible if we seek it out. As the air fills with the scents of summer barbeques, firework embers and the sea-salty air, get in touch with your senses beyond just sight and allow the blissful sensations to wash over you.
We’re over half-way through the year, and it is now a good time to relax and celebrate all that you’ve seen, accomplished and overcome in the past six months. There is also an opportunity to look ahead and consider the new opportunities that will approach in the coming months. For students and parents, school will soon begin again, bringing with it the chance to expand educational horizons and explore new interests. Take this time to ground yourself in the openness of the summer months, so that you are refreshed and ready to work hard. On a much smaller level, taking time to appreciate the little things, the small moments that bring us joy rather than the wider picture, may really be the secret to a blissful day.
Soak in the final rays and get to the beach or the lake before the opportunity runs away once more. Make the most of the barbeque season with cinnamon grilled peaches and mascarpone ice cream or a hearty back-to-school dinner of heirloom tomato penne or balsamic watermelon chicken salad.
There’s nothing quite as enjoyable as spending time with dear friends, so remember to celebrate those near to you on Friendship Day on the 6th. Lounge with your favourite stories and escape to somewhere new on Book Lover’s Day on the 9th. Gear up for the fall season and sow the last wild fruits of summer!
Happy August
Love
