A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
April is the month of Enchantment. Nature’s unique ability to affect our senses and spirits is epitomized in this month. Just as the cold winter months invoke a spirit of hibernation and internal reflection, April’s warmth and celestial beauty implores the spirit to mimic its surroundings. The signs of spring overwhelm all of our senses- be it the beauty and aroma of flowers in bloom, the melodic songs of birds filling our ears, or the refreshing taste of fresh fruits and vegetables.
With the unfolding of this month comes the unfolding of spring wardrobes. Blacks, greys, and browns are exchanged for flowing pastels and pops of bright color. Winter boots are substituted for pumps, sneakers and strappy sandals, and even the spring showers can’t bring us down with the new option of trench coats and galoshes at our disposal.
As some of you may know, April is National Gardening Month, and even if you do not garden yourself, this holiday is well worth celebrating. In this case, those who don’t garden- cook! A great way for all to get involved is through the local farmers market. By supporting local farmers and sourcing deliciously fresh products for personal use or entertainment, it is a win-win!
Immersed within this setting of wonder, we momentarily surrender our minds to the will of our Enchanted spirits. Celebrate your inner-child this month and allow yourself to be Enchanted by the beauty that surrounds you.
