IDS enforces a fixed set of requirements for each step in the supply chain: general operations, traceability, social responsibility, chemical compliance, environmental sustainability and animal welfare. IDFL has specific tests for textiles, synthetic fills, natural fills and feathers. To become fully IDS certified, a company must adhere to regular on-site visits and documentation reviews by IDFL staff. Upon completion of the audit, corrective actions are issued to the organization, which must be completed within a specified timeframe before receiving certification.
