GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE TOURISM COUNCIL

Global Sustainable Tourism Council Logo

sets global standards for sustainable travel and tourism. The GSTC criteria are split into two sets: Destination Criteria for public policy-makers and destination managers, and Industry Criteria for hotel and tour operators. Each set of criteria is broken down into four pillars: sustainable management, socioeconomic impacts, cultural impacts, and environmental impacts. These pillars are intended to be adapted to the local culture, environments, customs, and laws of each destination.
