This certification program is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network, meaning that it follows internationally recognized standards and principles for sustainable certification. In order to become certified by this independent organization, a client or business must provide concrete evidence of sustainability initiatives and results within their manufacturing processes and product lifecycles. Although EC operates as an independent organization, the ecolabel is both government owned and endorsed.

Environmental Choice strives to incentivize consumers, businesses and governments to discover and purchase products and services that are certifiably sustainable. By encouraging environmental leadership within businesses, the EC program hopes to contribute to a sustainable and low-emissions future.
