Our mood of the month is RENAISSANCE, a month of awakening and revival of the spirit. As winter nears its end and spring is in sight, March promises hope and renewal. During the month of March, consider reflecting on your New Year’s resolutions. Have you kept your promise to yourself? If not, what can you do to manifest the essence of renaissance within yourself?
In the spirit of new beginnings, consider trying these recipes to refresh your palate! It may be difficult to reinvigorate cauliflower, but Food52 does so effortlessly! Try their whole roasted cauliflower with turmeric-tahini sauce & pistachios that is sure to please. For the main course, transform sheet pan dinners with Bon Appetit’s sheet pan salmon and squash with miso mojo. Sheet pan meals are a great way to minimize the mess and mix the flavors of proteins and vegetables to enhance the overall dish. For dessert, wow friends and family with Food52’s magical molten chocolate cake. This classic take on lava cake is certain to feed a crowd!
March does not fall short of days to celebrate. The 5th marks Mardi Gras, otherwise known as Fat Tuesday, so feel free to let loose, have a party, and indulge in whatever your heart desires. Lent begins March 6, a six-week period leading up to Easter inviting believers to begin an inner transformation. The 10th marks Daylight Savings, so be sure to remember to set your clocks ahead and go to sleep early to minimize the hour of sleep lost! March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, celebrates the Irish. Wear green, play some Irish music, eat festive food, and enjoy the cheer of Irish culture. The 21st marks Holi, an Indian Hindu celebration of colors. People wear white and throw colored powder at another, so by the end of the day, everyone is decked out in colors of the rainbow. In the mood of renaissance this month, go out of your comfort zone, try new things, celebrate other’s cultures, and live in the moment.
