Sheep farms undergoing the certification process allow SGS to conduct animal welfare inspections on their sites. These auditors not only investigate animal management, but also assess the farm’s supply chains and sourcing practices, going the extra mile to make sure the farm’s sustainability certification is truly earned. The certification is valid for three years, and annual onsite audits are required under the standard in order to maintain certification.
