May Mood of the Month : Innovative
With so many challenges facing our country and the world this spring, it’s easy to feel a sense of despair or lost purpose. Current U.S. policies have profound and far-reaching consequences at home and abroad. Domestically, they have undermined trust in our elections, politicized the justice system, rolled back critical environmental protections, weakened healthcare access, and fueled fear through harsh immigration enforcement. They’ve empowered extremism, launched attacks on diversity and education, and created a chilling atmosphere for many communities.
Â
Globally, the U.S. has distanced itself from longstanding alliances, withdrawn support for global health and climate initiatives, and contributed to economic and trade instability. These overlapping crises can feel overwhelming.
Â
And yet, there’s a powerful saying: that times of transition are not moments to despair, but rather landscapes of opportunity. In these moments, we are called not just to witness change, but to shape it—by seeking solutions, building community, and embracing innovation. Even amidst uncertainty, hope can be an act of resistance and renewal.

Wishing you a happy and innovative May!
