March Mood of the Month — Awakening

Mood of the Month: Awakening

As winter gives way to spring, we emerge from hibernation alongside nature—trees bud, flowers bloom, animals stir, and birds return with their song. Yet, amid this seasonal renewal, the weight of global and political unrest lingers.

How do we find peace in uncertainty? How do we safeguard democracy and human values as they face mounting threats? What happens when politics and corporate greed disrupt lifelong careers? How will those affected support themselves and their families? How can we stand by as millions are displaced, detained, or deported with nowhere to turn—while others are targeted for their dedication to humanity and the environment, their religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, or their fight for justice? What does it mean when seniors, after decades of contribution, risk losing Social Security—often their only source of income in retirement? How would that impact our mothers, fathers, grandparents, and aging communities?

The U.S. Bill of Rights promises to protect our freedoms—speech, religion, assembly, and privacy. But what if those rights are no longer guaranteed?

We may not have the answers, but one thing is sure: we must not be complacent. As spring unfolds, embrace its beauty and promise while finding strength in taking action.

Be a force for good this March.
