January is a fresh start. The festivities of Dec. have come and gone as we begin the new year with promise. For most of us, we’ve had a couple of weeks to focus on family and friends, and to decide upon our new year’s goals. Come Jan. 1, when the weather is at its coldest, and the days are still short; I encourage you not to lose sight of your hopeful resolutions and to visualize how to turn dreams into actions.
Take time to care for your physical and mental well-being, to cook hearty and healthy meals that permeate your home with comforting smells, to savor red wine and to read the books you’ve never had the chance to, while listening to your favorite music. Do things at home you might not do when the warm weather beckons you to return outside.
During this month of reinvention, I encourage you to spend time alone. To listen to your inner voice, to regain your direction and to make your goals come true!
