The 5th Annual NYC Vegetarian Food Festival was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, NY from March 14-15. The event was a celebration of healthy, sustainable plant-based nutrition, wellness lifestyles and 100 percent cruelty-free food. The festival was arranged by the U.S Veg Corp, which was founded in 2009 by Sarah Gross and Nira Paliwoda, two passionate and active members of the local vegetarian and green movement.
The NYC Vegetarian Food Festival was packed with dedicated activists, vegetarian restaurants, and food companies, both local and national. With exhibitors on two different floors and three different stages, there was something for everyone. Attendees could enjoy cooking demonstrations, samples of food products, yoga classes, and an opportunity to meet the experts.
When the Mood of Living team arrived 30 minutes before the opening, there was already a line of excited visitors that stretched around the block. Although the sky remained cloudy and the rain continued to fall, hundreds of people had defied the elements and waited for the doors to open — a glimpse of how popular and successful this event would be.
The event featured some of the best food, experts, books, beauty products and other vegetarian goodies you can find on the market. While sampling bites along the way, we were very impressed with of the overall setup and organization of this event. We are already excited to attend next year!
